Here’s one of the bunkhoused that served as shelter for the prisoners. These were literally field stables for the horses of the German army. These particular stables were leftovers and scraps, stables that were seen as not being fit for German horses. They were built to hold 52 horses, they were used to house 400 human prisoners. In this picture you can see the special made latrines that ran down the middle of the bunkhouse.
