European Thanksgiving

European Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful first European Thanksgiving. Even though most of the Czech people did not know it was a holiday for us we certainly felt the spirit of Thanksgiving on Thursday. We had Thanksgiving at Phil and Shanna Davis’s home where they hosted the dinner for 37 adults and 7 children! It was warm, festive chaos! We had our fair share of turkey, stuffing, and pumpkin pie. I even had my mother send me her broccoli casserole and chocolate pie recipe so I could add to the food supply (and for my own selfish reasons, too…Thanksgiving is not Thanksgiving without these two items!).

We all had so much to be thankful for…after taking us back home Jon went back to their apartment, where they have cable, to watch the Cowboys Football game. Lillian had a great night, too…she slept 6 hours straight! After recovering from getting terribly motion sick in the ride over to the Davis’s home, Eloise had such a great time playing with the other children. We are so thankful for all that God provides for us!

We hope you all had a great Thanksgiving in the US!

Phil…thanks for taking this great picture of us!
