What Makes For a Great January Day in the Czech Republic?

A successful trip to the pediatrician’s, shopping for new clothes for a growing baby, Eloise’s time well spent with Rabbit (AKA Jessica), Eloise (a vegetarian by her own choice) taking four bites of a hamburger, three notices that we have packages waiting for us at the post office…and the list goes on. Yes this has been a great day so far! The packages are probably Jon’s school books and a bill from the hospital, but on a cold January day the anticipation is entertainment enough!

Lillian is now 6.7 kg (14.7 pounds) and 66 cm (25.98 inches). For US growth charts she is in the 86th percentile for weight and 97th for height. She is so very happy! The doctor almost chuckled to herself as she examined Lillian, then turned to me and said: “She is perfect!” Lillian had to get her first vaccination shot today. I was worried about how my happy baby would respond. She cried in shock for maybe 5-10 seconds and then quickly returned to her smiley self. Her pediatrician’s office is right behind a shopping mall. Because she is growing so fast I have to get her more clothes! The clothes I brought for the size she is now are for warmer weather. So we took advantage of the winter sales!

Here in this picture you see Lillian’s first try in the exersaucer yesterday.
