Mother Talk

Mother Talk
Originally uploaded by thestonesinprague.

This past Wednesday I had the blessing of being asked to attend a gathering of Czech mothers of small infants. Mirka, the office manager for Project Antioch (and our Czech speaking link to civilization!!!) organized a get together for her Czech friends, some of whom she has known since grade school. Mirka asked a lactation consultant to come and answer any questions the mothers may have about nursing their infants.

We met at Project Antioch’s coffee shop, Daystar. Mirka arranged to have padded blankets and rugs on the floor so that the babies could roll, crawl, and toddle to their heart’s content while the mothers socialized and relaxed. I was so thrilled to be a part of this group.

Mirka plans on hosting more such events and outreaches. She has a real heart for reaching out to mothers and would like to establish a Mothers Center at some point in the future. We are planning to start an English language club, of sorts, specifically for mothers in the near future. Please pray specifically for these events.

Oh, Emily, this group looks so fun! I wish I was there with you! We are so excited about all of the things you are doing in Prague for women and families. Motherhood is such a blessing, isn’t it?! We love you and can’t wait to see you!
