Tour Guides

Tour Guides

I was grateful to have some time on Saturday to see the city. However, I was even more grateful to have two willing tour guides! Here you see Tom (school president) and Ilya (school administrator) standing in front of the famous St. Basil church just in front of Red Square. Legend has it that Ivan the Terrible, who commissioned the building of the church, called in the designers after it was completed and asked if they thought they could build something even more beautiful. Excited that they may have a second work project they eagerly told him yes. In response he immediately had their eyes removed so they would never try.
