. . . posts on faith and life
Jon just returned from a two week trip to the other side of the “pond”. His time in Europe was busy and fruitful. He fascilitated training in children’s ministry, organizing for the next Eurofest, and contacts with youth leaders and pastors in the region. We are excited about what God is doing in Europe! What a blessing to be part of it!
When Jon returned we quickly prepared for a trip to Alabama to preach at a church, preach and minister at a youth conference, and then to Baton Rouge, LA to preach at another church. This is a great trip for us because along the way we have been able to do some very fun things. Friday night and Saturday, while Jon preached a the youth conference, which was about 30 minutes away, we spent time with family in Birmingham: Jon’s brother Tim Stone along with his wife, Tammy, and their children Will and Anna Claire. Eloise and Lillian love their cousins so this was great!
Afterwards we headed up to Sand Mountain Alabama to be in a church Sunday morning. After spending time with these precious people we headed back down to one of my favorite places in the world: The Grand Hotel in Point Clear, Alabama. Someone, ahem, donated a few nights to us at this incredible place (my dad). We are loving every minute of it. Built in 1847, this place is full of old south charm and hospitality.
Eloise has been begging to go to the beach and I was worried that it would be cold and miserable for our trip, but the Lord has blessed us with beautiful weather. It hit 70 degrees F today. Eloise was able to play in the sand and make her sandcastle. That is all I really wanted, but the Lord has provided so much more.
